Apart from changing the KM to miles what needs to be done to an import zx (assume its in decent working order) to make it suitable for english driving?

Thanks

i thought they were something to do with the fuel pumps nozzle.

my cars a B***H to fill.I have to pull the nozzle out bout halfway to get any fuel in otherwise its clicks (i know it aint a full tank of fuel because my Zeds never had a full tank since ive owned it lol)

Well fook me I thought it was just me that had this problem.  Can you remove it?? as its a PITA

The place I'm getting my JDM NA from say there will be a full MOT done before I get to take it. From what people have said though I'm worried they will just pretend its passed the MOT and not care about things like emmissions or lack of rear fog lights etc. Would it be easy for a small company to do that?

Who are they?, if they are dodgy in any way someone on here will of heard of them.

Aah..... fuel FILLer restrictor, i thought it said fuel filter restrictor!!!

b19rks, they're called premier cars and there's a huge thread about them over on general discussion (called 'It's Huge'). No one knew if they were definately dodgy but many didn't like them much.

If in doubt, dont buy is the only advice ill give.

Good luck, have you had someone off here look it over for you?

Fuel filler restricter is to stop leaded petrol as the nozzle is thicker.

It is not an MOT requirement but an SVA requirement

Ahh so thats what it is..

On mine it was a green alloy thing stuck in the filler neck. It has a smaller hole in it than the neck so that you can only use an unleaded petrol nozzle in it. I removed it. I've an MOT in June, I'll let you know if anything happens.

Mines a 97 NA.

It's the 2nd NA I've owned, and from my limited knowledge / experience you be looking at replacing track control arms at approx £100 each (x2), gearbox rear mount at about £60, propshaft centre support bearing at approx £150, rubber at approx £300 for all 4, and then the cambelt service as advised earlier.

Watch out for the exhaust system, the original mild steel one lasts well if the car is used daily - and if the cars been lowered and there un-even tyre wear you'll need to get all of the suspension geometry re-aligned - about £70 from a crash repair specialist. If I were you I'd replace the lowered units with originals at about £25 per corner second-hand.

Then you need to get rid of the crappy grey fabric interior and replace it with leather (makes the world of difference) - allow a further £400.

I think that's about it (apart from general wear and tear and removing the AI valves) oh and buying new ICE if you want to listen to the raido.

PS ...all of this palls into insignificance - they are wonderfull cars.

Good luck

Jack
