thought the radiator coolant went in the rad cap and that was the expansion tank which allows excess fluid to overflow?

correct

I flushed my rad the other day just by pulling the bottom hose off and squirting the hose in the top of the rad. Its clean now but it filled it and bled it and the rad cap and bleed screw on the other side of the rad. Didnt know it had an expansion tank too! I'll have to check it.

Thanks, Ed

hey retro620ti did you used to have a 620ti by any chance? I just swapped mine for my z!

Yeah mate

I had a mint red one that was kicking 254bhp but ran out of money for it ( it is only a rover after all) when the torsen diff ate its bearings...you can get a six speed box for the 620ti now...hehe

blimey , ,i had one to guys sold it and an mpv to buy the zed , mine blew dif and box but got rebuilt for 750 with uprated clutch,, very cheap fun now days can get for 1000 notes 200bhp standard loads of fun , still my zed windows go up and down without falling out which is nice!!!

Ha i dissconnected the passenger side window as it was rubbish!

Just checked the coolant again on my z and its still rust colour! Is there a proper way to flush the system?

Thanks, Ed

did you flush the rad using a hose then flush the block with a hose as well

IIRC You can,t really flush the block through without removing the thermostat as it will be in the closed position , stopping any water passing through it .HTH :D

Yeah flushed the rad but cant flush the block, i'll just have to do it a few times i think till it looks more blue than brown!

On my SWB that is the filler for the air con. The washer bottle is in fact in the back.

Darrell

To get to the thermostat you have to remove the lower hard rad pipe that goes into the front of the block, what else you remove before that is dependant on if you can get in there. I would suggest you move the fan shroud and fan belt and cooling fan.

Alternatively check the online manual http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi
