delimiter/power steering

hi just taken the z for a burst up the road after fitting a delimiter and notice a difference in the power steering, its definately stiffer. i have read somewhere on this site that this might happen but can't remember what the opinions or thoughts on this matter were. any info please? cheers.

Yes, this will happen if you've installed a delimiter that works by converting Km/h to mph. The power steering is speed sensitive and so what used to happen at 50 kmh, now happens at 50 mph etc.

 

The 'proper' fix is to install a UK speedo head (or possibly modify a Jap one) and then change the chip in the ECU to remove the limiter (and gain some performance!).

thanks for the info andy. i had already bought the delimeter a while ago and have only just fitted it. i do remember reading a thread about it a while back but couldn't remember the comments,at least i now know why this happens.cheers
