I am going to attempt to retrim the inside panels of my 2+2. Any suggestions on where to buy the material. I am thinking of going for black and stitching some sort of pattern within it to make it a bit less dull and boring.

I would prefer vinyl but may use leather.

TIA,

look in your yellow pages for textile shops/ distributors.

vynil is much easier to work with, ie. stretching around bends and such, and most outlets that do the vynil will do matching leather or vice versa.

I personally think Vinyl is easier for door panels unless you are a bit of a whizz with a needle and thread. Secondly it is so much cheaper and IMHO achieves the same result. Sourcing material is as already said, a case of searching your local Yellow Pages or internet.

Don't get vinyl that is too thin, I would recommend it is about 2mm thick, allows for stretching.

just done mine today in vinyl. cost me £8 per meter and 2 meters did the whole front of the car and the cowl over the clocks. Im gonna get 1 more meter to do the rear quater panels.

I did it in leather a while back but it is harder to work with, dosent stretch around the curves too well and dosent seem to stick down as well either.

whats the difference between leather & vinyl apart from the obvious, (eg) pros/cons does vinyl look as good leather ?? thanx
