Hi,

I currently drive an Accord Type-r, however, i think i want some big power and after checking insurance on a UK 300zx, i think that this may be the car for me.

Just wondering what sort of mileage/condition car i should expect for £7k, i've searched the classifieds and can only find cars around the 3-4k mark. Anyone help?

Thanks,

Matt. :D

you will get a stunning z for that money if you want a NA (no Turbo's) then Yami has a sweet wide body one, plus theres the possibility of a V8 powered z and several nice TT's at that price.

Hi matey, MantaV8 is looking as selling his V8 powered one for around the 6-7k mark. Realistically if you're going to spend that much you could get a rather nice kitted out Twin turbo with rebuilt engine, etc i would have said.

What does everyone else think?

Cheers, but i'm gonna be looking at a standard UK twin turbo example as i am only 21 and insurance will be pretty steep already.

I take it that i should be able to get a car that will be relatively reliable at that price?

I would expect so just make sure you read the buyer's guide, somewhere in the faqs section. Should tell you all you need to know and always feel free to ask one of our more established members (maybe MickyB?) if you need advise and want someone to check a car over?

For that sort of money, you might get a genuine 1999 car (normaly aspirated, probably not twin turbo).

The 1999 model had some pretty nice upgrades including a stifer chassis, cosmetics plus it'll probably be in better condition than an older car and much less of a gamble.

If you can find one!

edit- they're all imports so maybe not what you're after.

To be honest, you'll get a beauty for £4-£5K so save the rest of your money just in case it needs work doing.

Thanks, for that, will have a look now.

I always get cars checked before i buy them, so if anyone is offering their services, obviously at a price, then that would be awesome.

I guess it's just a case of hanging around for the right one to pop up.....

Does anyone know where the midlands meet is? Are non-owners allowed to attend?

Matt.

P.s seems like a really helpful forum. :D

Not legally he won't.

Not legally he won't.

A 1999 NA would go for around that - maybe a fraction more.

He wouldn't get a fresh import but there are some already in the country.

If he's after a UK TT it's not really the answer though!

but dont you get a drop in power on the 99 spec?

Very little official information.

Mike Feeny once told me he thought the '99 car was faster / more powerful (NA anyway - dunno about the TT).
