Driving my zed to see the mrs at work and the following happend..

car was warned up with less than 1/4 tank of gas, no warnings and i went to over take a car, used Wide open throttle, from about 40mph, revs climbed to 4-5k then huge hesitation, revs dropped my foot was still on gas as i took in what happend, this dip n loss of power then climb cycle happend 2/3 time while i realised, took off WOT and then overtook.

There was no sound from the engine like knocking or pinking or anything, so hopeing its not det... I refuled the car, let it warm up and tried it once more, same thing happend... also tried it with my profec B turned off exaclty the same.. The profec isnt set for high boost really, the max ive ever had is 12psi, only once and that worked fine, with the profec off the car reached a spike of 10.5 psi then started to drop..

The zed is mattys old black zed is anyone knows the car, but basically spec wise has apexi, scorpion exhaust, JWT Cip (although i havent checked this was just told it by previous owner...probably should check at some point...) and the profec. Its an auto uk TT been serviced recently at zed world and they didnt hint at anything...

Also noticed during the winter if i braked hard while the car was still warming up sometimes it would stall (PCV valves thing i think..) but its fine now the weathers heated up...

Advice guys...

also having read the zed manual it says that if a maf failure is detected the ecu wont let the car rev above 2400 rmp in limp home mode...? chip disabled this or just not always the case?

We charge £75 a side to supply and fit each O2 sensor that would leave you 250 out of the 400 nissan quoted to use on a hire car, or if you wait an hour or two then you could probably have your car done while you wait :)

I've sent you an email mate. Cheers

Not always the case :(

And pete repied to your email :)

Deffinately the MAF mate.

Get a pal off the site to meet up with you to do a swap to see if it is that, then you wont be wasting any cash.

The prices for MAF's have shot thru the roof lately as well because 200sx boys are getting then as an upgrade so dont expect much change from £160 -£180.

BUT WELL WORTH IT.

160 - 180, damn thats bit more than id hoped... guessing their are no aftermarket mafs that would be an upgrade?

guessing this might also be why i think my zed isnt as fast as it should be?

Alright fella,

I went through 3 MAF's on the Z.....1st one died (old age) second one wa a dud and was repleced super sharpish by trader (nice one!) and that one is not that old, I don't think it's the MAF that is the problem (although it's a worthwhile route to check out) I did however have a problem (which was fixed with a good clean and that was the CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) and that gave off the very same symptoms your getting, loss of power, over fuel, etc......then it died on me..... thought the worst, went to Zedword checked everything over and found the CAS was the problem, gave it a good clean and all was pukka but that was roughly 2 years ago now so worth a check...

Matty.
