My Z sounds like a f**king tank

Bollocks bollocks bollocks.

Drove too fast over a damn speed hump thing Friday night and my offside fecking silencer falls off!!!!!!!

OK slight exaggeration - it didn't fall off but the pipe going into silencer has come clean away..... must have been ready to go already and the jolt from speed hump has seen the job through.

Previous owner had nearside done last year and I have the invoice...£292!!!! (car is import TT)

Nelson said UK spec would be £175+VAT and can get price for import on Monday.. does this sound right?? Anyone else replaced a stock exhaust?? Is there any difference between UK and J Spec exhaust??

Would be nice to take this oppurtunity to upgrade, but can't afford to right now so will have to go for another stock part.

In the meantime though, will have to get it welded up for now - taken to a local garage who said he can make a small sleeve from and old exhaust and weld it all back up. Only a temporary measure but needs to be done as is sounds fecking shite, I've lost loadsa power and my MPG has bombed even further!!

Do these prices sound about right anyone??

Well for about £500 you could get a cat back stainless system that sounds better, doesn't rust and gives a small power increase.

I have an import and when i went for quote from nissan i used the part no's on the exhaust itself, the price £170 Vat per side so no differance between uk and import as far as o can see. Ended up getting a SS exhaust made up as even after much welding it was still falling apart.
