Dear fellow stressed out n p'd off zed owners,

 

Its been one of those days...

 

1stly me mrs called me late yesterday afternoon to tell me that the zorst off her pug has got ripped off. So in the p'sin rain i get under it, tie up the loose pipes n drive it home for her. Took today off work, took 4 hrs for Kwik fix to sort (not their fault this time), got home £200 lighter. Fair enough job done - sorted.

 

Then I get a call...my gates belts are in...yippee. scoot over to pick em up, all ok....back to zed. Cleaned up engine bits n put em back inc new under drive pulley with over small keyway....sorted that!!

 

Then when I started to get the new belts on I had to slacken off the alternator ....I wouldnt f'kin move, who ever worked on her before did a dandy job of shagging the nuts n bolts....to the point that I cant get stuff off. I HATE mech's who just dont care about their work or customers cars.

 

Rant over!

 

So.....I nearly threw in the towel with this car.....but then I thought no I'll try the lads on T'net.

 

So if you live in/near Stockton on Tees or the NE or know of a decent mech who can come n pick up my car (will not move by itself at mo so will need lifting) n sort the niggly bits out please, PLEASE let me know. Not much needs doing just a couple of poxy bolts etc. Or if you think you can help me.....I'm just stuck.

cant they be drilled out or put a tap in and remove them ?

I know it's extra expense, mate, but I can highly recommend a set of 'bolt grip nut removers' for getting those rounded off nuts and bolts! Sounds like some kind of masochistic toy, but I promise you they are genuine tools!And they are, if you forgive the pun, the nuts!

Karl, Have you ever tried to replace the alternator on a zed, lol.

 

Its tighter than a gnats chuff!!!

 

Have not given up on the ol girl, found the bolt/nut undoer thingywotsits, not too expensive. Getting stuck in at weekend to get it all off again.

 

Then she's off to me workshop for a total overhaul, everything getting a look in - bodywork n all.
