I want internet in my house, but I dont have a phone line. Is it possible somehow to get internet without a phone line. Or if any companies offer very cheap monthly phone rates (company mobile fully paid for).

I just want this so I can play online games here on either PC, PS2 or Xbox.

The only annoying thing is I need this in Thurso, Scotland where I work.

Anyone any suggestions? Or games that they want beat at? :nelson:

you can do it via your mobile linked to your pc / xbox. but the speed would be so slow it wouldnt be worth it, plus it's expensive that way

Just done a search and all that they advertise is ADSL. But I cant check for availability of suppliers to this as I need a phone line.

I have also heard of 3g/vodafone cards that plugs into the PCMIA slot. But I imagine this is a slow type connection too and can be kinda expensive. Must operate off GPRS or WAP or something

theres a new company, think it's called home choice, £17.99 a month 35 channels, phone and 2mb internet. phoneno is 0800 0728004

Just tried it m8. Dont have it in the area. Thanks though, it would have been ideal

no prob's mate, was think about getting it for the mrs so wecan keepin touch online, seams like a real cheap option, instead of Sky, Bt and an ISP.

I think you'll have to go with BT or similar to get an ordinary phone line then get ADSL broadband.

You might even find you can't get that up there!

You certainly won't get 3G on a mobile and if you did there's no way of connecting a PS2 or Xbox to it without some clever setting up of routing software on your PC.

You need a fast connection for games anyway.

BT is so expensive though. It would cost me something like:

99 installation

15 - 20 a month phone

15 a month internet

Too much to pay just for games. I could always stay in work and use their high speed connection but it means staying in work even longer than the 12/13 hour shifts I already do.

But I know that BT definately do it up here.

Thanks Guys,
