if you go to a locksmith,they will give you a bunch of tryout keys for a deposit,all window keys are of the shelf and if they have a decent bunch one will fit,take a pic of the keyway and take it in they will know which key if there competent,if you have major probs give me a ring as i have every key for windows,i was a locksmith for 6years :) for postage costs i could help you,pic would be useful

 

when window is in locked position,it covers one of the bolts as you have figured out.

The lock is faulty, he has the key but when you press the button, they handle does not move :( Yeah, that's the bolt/screw I need to get to to replace the handle.

Could you not adapt a small 6mm spanner and a Philips screwdriver bit?? I have a small 6mm ring spanner with a philips screwdriver bit welded into the ring which I can get into very limited access areas, usefull on the Z. Just an idea??

go out and find a poxy faced youth with a hooded sweatshirt,offer the scrott a tenner and he,ll have it open in a jiffy. Just as he,s coming out the window hit him over the head with a spade and he wont ever come back,then with the tenner he has,nt got go and buy a new handle :dance:

do you no who fitted your windows originaly?

i do have a selection of window keys i can get hold off , rehau , anglian or white knight., also decuniick , and sheerframe ,

there is a small bolt that sits in other part of the handle you may be able to shim between the handle and fixing point to press the bolt back in?

 

undo other bolt and shake handle it may break,but it may also damage the espagnolette spindle

could be the espagnolete seized,this may happen if the window hasnt opened for along time,or a cam has bent due to the window being forced

Would'nt it just be easier to just get a new window mate??

cos of a broken handle? lol, surely not.

only thing i can think off if you have tried the brutal way is to use a hardended sharp 6-8mm drill bit and dril through the handle to gain access to the screw/bolt then you can remove handle and replace with new one,i have new handles here for various models,if you need one i can do one for a £5,just let me know the spindle length
