Hi guys, I have baught a goodridge brake hose kit, fits fine at teh calliper end, however the car (brake pipe end) is the wrong thread, any one else had any issues??

Sorted,

Anyone with a uk car may want to take note, that the 'wonderful' guys at nissan decided to change the ends of the brake pipes to male ones on a few thousand non jdm cars (UK, US, & Aussie), so if you have a 90,91 UK it may have the same fittings as mine, so a normal set of hoses wont fit.

Goodridge are changing their fittings now (and doing me a set direct) which will have a double male double metric adaptor and will have a female metric end for this to go into....

Hope this helps anyone else with the same spec.

I'm having the same problem on my jap 92 tt.Just sourcing the nipple adaptors now.

Was it a goodridge kit??

IIRC danny on here sells the the kit with the correct fittings,so no messing about with male/female connectors

ask danny@dta in the traders section

Thanks for the reference Greg.

I do indeed supply the Goodridge hoses with the now mandatory line locators.

Problems with the nipple fitments has been known quite some time eventhough it only affects a minority of cars (both UK and JDM by the way ...)

The kit I supply now comes with all the necessary nipple adaptors but it is always a big help if the buyer can advise us on what male/female nipples they require.

As a matter of interest, I currently have two full stainless steel brake line kits sitting on the shelf. Normal rrp is £115 per kit, will now take £95 including delivery for these two.

Danny, you have mail ;)

any1 got a pics of both fittings?

Do you mean the fittings on the car?

I can do the male ones if you want

yes, fittings on the car and of the different nipple adaptators.

cause i think that mine are the wrong one(do someone sell just the adaptator?)

Here You go mate, The RHS hoses are metric to unf adaptors (the hose has a unf female end) so would only do the cars with female brake pipes.

The new ones on the LHS have metric to metric adaptors so will do cars with female brake pipes (using the adaptor) and male brake pipes (me) with out the adaptor

So I now have a spare set of double male metric adaptors

and male brake pipes (me) with out the adaptor

i have male brake pipes too,so is it possible to found a male unf/female metric coupling(adaptator) to fit on the male brake car line and the other on the hose?

I couldn't get any, but I dare say someone could do them, after finding out the guys at goodridge tech told demon tweeks that they will get a full credit when i send mine back, it is an issue that they are aware of and all lines they are going to do in the future will be fully metric.

Where did you get yours?

You should be able to return them as they dont fit (eg they contravene the sale of goods act) and the retailer should relace them for you.
