Yep i know ive asked for help on my hks air filter several times but it just does not fit.

So now i have taken the guard off, but i am sure it still wont fit.

it wont go past these metal bars, what can i do, its really pissin me off.

i decided to take some pictures to show you what i mean.

 

(yes i know its the HKS one and someones gonna say that its shit, or what not, but ive bought it now!)

is it a 300zx specific filter or have you bought a filter and a maf adapter??

I have a HKS filter and it fits great and is a fantastic filter. which metal bars are you on about??

??? i dont know either bud looks like its been welded onto brackets and stuck on top of the oil cooler??

 

It looks to me that the maf bracket is extending the filter too low

i have no idea what the metal bars are, they are on top of the cooler, what do i do. take them off?

also is that what a zx is supposed to look like when there is no airbox.

 

yeah kirbz this kit is specifcally for a zx, but i just dont know what to do now due to the old air box has been ripped off and binned.

Dude it should look something like this-don't know what the bars are, can't you unbolt it and drop it down?

I think only UK cars have these bars, as mine dosnt and my HKS filter fits fine

Yep, its the brackets for a UK oil cooler. Im sure other UK Zed onwers must have the HKS....wait till one replies I guess
