I've got an apexi filter and am looking at getting a twin induction type setup to fit soon as the weather is more reliable. Today I compared the apexi with a Blitz sus and my old HKS mushroom filter and realised how much smaller the apexi is. It looks like the correct bolt fittings for the MAF so don't think I have the wrong one. I can't see how it could flow anywhere near as much air as the blitz or the HKS. Has anyone done any comparisons between them? I was considering just fitting the single filter as I've not got round to buying the y pipe and the second filter yet, but I'm not sure its such a good idea now.

Cheers Dave

Its all to do with the clever centre design, creats some sort of twisting vacumm I believe, and means it does'nt need to be as large as the others.

There is a comparison of it and 3 others somewhere. It offered the best filteration and best airflow.

I've read that web-page regarding the filteration of the filters. But nowhere have I read that the Apexi's have the best airflow - I would be interested to know if someones got a link to show that this is indeed the case.

If no such figures are availble, it would be interesting to get a few members filters together and have 'flow-bench' day (rather than a 'dyno day') somewhere.

It's always been my opinion that the HKS green mushroom filter probably has the best airflow, because it has the worst filtration - i.e. you can see through the filter when you hold it up to the light!

I had the HKS on the car when I bought it but it was a nightmare in the rain. Eventually the MAF burnt out so I changed. I ended up choosing the Apexi because it had the best filtration reputation in terms of the rain as I use the car every day and need it to be reliable. I'd be interested in knowing the air flow comparison though as its tiny compared to the HKS or the Blitz. Mind you the pipe is the same whatever so maybe thats is more important.

ive recently swoped my k&n filter for the apexi, the k&n was nearly double the width of the apexi, having done a couple of long journeys since ive swaped, i think i prefer the apexi
