Just noticed , sometimes when I put my foot down (not to the floor) i get a sort of air horn noise (not as lowd!), sounds like its from the front driver side of the engine..just wondered if it might be something bad..!!

Paul, out of interest, do we know if goosehonk signifies a fault/leak on the recircs or is it relative to the filter/recirc combo? I've never had goosehonk and I've used a number of different filters (SE Maxflow, single Apexi, dual Apexi).

 

Just checking, as I've offered my old recircs to a member who is having "the honk" and wondered if they would actually make a difference..

AFAIK, is just a resonating of the diaphragm in the unit when passing from vacuum to boost pressure in the pipes.

 

in the states they do an upgrade kit which consists of an uprated spring & machined housing. would be interesting to take one apart really to see if its someting easy to make up
