And now for something completely different ... helpful police!

Yep ... still can't quite believe it myself.

Was driving on the A46 towards Stratfort upon Avon this afternoon when a police car approaches from the opposite direction and flashes me followed by a friendly wave ... I wasn't speeding, he couldn't have been flashing and waving at someone else as I was pretty much alone on the road ... and then it all became clear! About half a mile up the road was a police speed trap set up with about half a dozen cars pulled over!

Now isn't that nice! ;)

That's got to be a first. But i'd get a snooper/road angel just to be sure in future. Fortunately I've never had any attention from the fuzz good or bad.

Dave

surely you was dreaming mate.

ive never heard of such a thing ;)

Danny, thanks for that i drive down the A46 between Stratford and Warwick a lot

quite a good run (of course I would never speed , especially not on the dual carriageway) honest guv' :nono: :p

Mmm strange coppers well first time for everything

Fair play , maybe he likes Zeds? Around here, they would have done a 'U'-turn, watched you go through the trap then pulled you anyway :xxx:

I remember going down the A1 near Catterick on my GSXR750 some years ago and I must have been doing 130mph when I spotted 2 cop bikes sitting at the bottom of the slip road. It was too late for me to slow down but I did laugh when they looked at me, shook their heads and turned away!!!!!...

not all coppers are a problem. In fairness the ones Ive met of late have been good, appart from the odd ones whos body language coul be better. I wispered teh fact to the copper concerend that he needed to work on it, should of seen his face. His mate pissed himself.

The police officer may have been a Z owner themselves? I doubt they would flash as a warning because that is against the law!

Danny my mrs has helped loads out on here with probs so not all bad :D never had a problem in the Zed but on the Bike it's a different story

Not the first time ive heard this story. A guy I know who has a saleen mustang was filling it up and a copper approached him, had a chat about the car and then gave him a warning that the long straight just after the petrol station had a speed trap on it, commenting "i'd find it hard not to speed down there in a car like that".

Some of them are good :)

Was it deffo a copper in the car, or could it have been a garage mechanic etc ? They do usually cover all the signs up when not on official business of course ...

Yes, deffo coppers as they were both in uniform.

And just to shatter the myth that coppers aren't a bad bunch ... got pulled over in Solihull today for allegedly failing to display a tax disc. I did in fact have my tax disc displayed just not where it was instantly visible (ie bottom left corner as the damn disc holder didn't want to stick to the glass). Was let off with a stern talking to about the merrits of having a disc displayed properly. T*ssers!

PS - no disrespect meant to all the "good 'uns" - you know who you are ...
