Speedo Variations

Hi

Just needed a bit of clarification over the different types of dials available on Zeds.

Mine is a 1991 Jap TT that has NOT been delimited. It currently has the standard Clocks and shows upto 180KPH, with the boost gauge going from -7 to +7.

I bought one of these on fleabay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-300-ZX-120-MPH-Speedo-Face-Dial-300ZX-Turbo_W0QQitemZ4621202769QQcategoryZ10402QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

to make it easier to tell how fast I am actually going!

I thougt this was a good idea, as it is a straight fit, allows me to read my speed in MPH rather than KPH, but does not need to have the Odometer changed, so the milage stays in KMs and is accurate.

I have heard horror stories about de limiting autos, as the gear changes go out of sync.

I am interested in getting a set of white/indigo dials, but every one else is asking for 180MPH dials.

Also, why dosome cars showboost upto +7 and others up to +14? What is the difference???

Looking forward to the replies on this one! :nana2:

The replacement face option you went for is fine (if you dont want to see speed over 120mph) but not very popular. Most fit the convertor and place a mph sticker over the kph sign giving them a 180mph speedo.

or they fit a UK 180mph speedo cluster.

-7 to +7 is Jap imports and is measures in mmHGx100 (or something like that) , the -14 to +14 is in PSI and is fitted to UK cars.
