Help with readings on Boost Guage:)

My gauge reads to the arrow on max boost, it seems very accurate and I was wondering if this is a little 'low' ie safety boost?

Glen,

Looks to me like it's pointing straight at the 0.5kg/cm2 line, which is approx. 7.112psi, which is, safety boost..

Time to run an ECU diagnostic methinks.... I'm betting you'll get a code 34

Strange, but as I thought - safety boost.

I have no error codes and the car is not detonating, I have also run ECU diag with no error code. I then removed the connector to the knock sensor (to make sure the ECU would give code 34 and it did)

I then bypassed the knock sensor with a resistor to restore code 55 and drove hard boost - still 0.5/ 7.1 on the GReddy thus safety boost.

Fuck it I'll just install my evc4 and bollocks to the ECU.

Glen - has the car had a boost controller fitted before??? If so, the stock boost solenoids may well have been disconnected hence only safety boost wink.gif

Have a look down the side of the engine towards the turbos and you should be able to see some square black connectors - these are the ones for the stock solenoids - check they are connected wink.gif

CheerZ,

Andy
