There seem to be alot of problematic Zed threads around at the moment so Ive decided to start a thread about how great our cars are.

Ive had mine for 5 years and it hasnt cost me anything other than servicing, tyres etc and I love it!!

Not all Z's have problems and I know we all feel for you guys that are having troubles. :(

I wonder if its anything to do with the Great British weather finally coming to an end. Those of us with our Zeds as daily drivers have had a winter of salt on roads etc.Any those lucky guys who have weekend Zeds are probably getting probs wih cars being stood up for a few months.

(mines been fairly problem free up till now too :x:  )

The only thing that annoys me is we're getting no end of people now who are buying very cheap Zeds with no history and then are complaining on here that the thing has fooked up and they've had to spend £££££'s putting it right! :headvswal

My Zed is a summer car, was even stood for 2 years during a career challenge i was facing. I did run the car every couple of weeks though and drive it in and out of the garage to help keep things free. Also changed the oil before bringing back out last summer and hammering it. :D

Use common sense and you should be ok.

hmmmmm, i suppose at the end of the day you just need to pick the right car.. make sure the motor is sound etc.. but its often difficult.. an AA inspection isnt a bad idea, or take a mechanic with you...

i was very lucky really, i know a bit about cars but not a great deal, i took GAZ300zx's car round tescos and was happy it drove well... that said the £4k worth of receipts from top traders on here did give me more confidence then buying blind i suppose as the car had a lot of work done plus the proof to back it up...

hope u get sorted bird, really do mate..

TBH i wouldnt rely on an AA inspection on a car like this much more than what the brakes & tyres are like!! :wack:

only ever had minor problems on mine, but then its never been used much apart from the occasional blast on a nice sumer days. I'd say 5000 miles in 5 years so cant really comment on reliability :p
