300zx trouble??

Im thinking of buying a tt auto 300zx. Its cheap with full leather and in pretty good shape! Problem is there seems to be a water leak from somewhere, when driving the car it will heat but the car will idle all day without heating if you keep topping it up? Any ideas??? Also there seems to be a blow out from in round the turbo (making a whistley rattle noise) the guy said that there is a gasket in there away?? Please help/advise, car is under a grand!

Thanks.

first rulle of buyin one of these .. make sure you got a grand or two ready for work to be done...

any work on a turbo tends to be expensive. a rattle sounds like the rotors being worn and that means replacement turbos and a lot of dosh.

Ive spent over 1500 quid on mine since December and theres still loads more to do before im anyway near happy with it.

Some people have had luck finding minters for cheap but TBH you get what you pay for.

As i always say most people only sell cars when they get something wrong with it.Afterall a fully functioning Zed is worth a lot of money.

(Tin of worms opening lol)

Thanks for the advice guys im giving it the wide berth!!

Wise decision mate.

If you are serious about buying a ZX then your best bet is buy one from a member in the for sale section. More likely any work will have ben carried out properly by an enthusiastic owner, not some chav who bought one then thrashed it to pieces and sold it a year later when he realised he could not afford to run it.

Sure there are some bargains out there but most cheap ZXs are cheap for a reason, not just because of the general value of used cars nowadays.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

indeed zed life is expensive but i knew what i was buying into, £1000 for a zed, ur having a laugh if u expect it to be running n in gwo.
