INDIGLO DIAL KITS

Well after many months of faxes, mails, phone calls managed to source a manufacturer of the Indiglo dials who doesn't want a fortune to set up, so these will be UK spec dials, will not take ages to arrive, price is not certain yet, but i'm happy with estimate, more good news is we have a bit of a free run on designs for the face, logo's etc, so what do you fancy, a nice big Z across the 2 main dials, i'm no good at this part, so please those interested, do some nice logo for them and lets see what we can have, incase of any negative vibes here, i have sourced some from the states, the quality and spec are no good to us, but will help towards having our UK ones making up, now has any of you who are breaking a Zed, got spare UK spec dial fronts, if you have, mail me and if you want some indiglos, you will be very well looked after, my car is in daily use see, so c'mon get designing. smithy cool.gif

Paul this sounds absolutely great mate!!! I'm there like a bear for these. wink.gif

I saw Maccas on his car and they look awesome.

Logo aswell? Bang on!

Count me in on the buying a set side, not to good at designing stuff though. Sounds more like our in house graphic design expert Mr. TT Tim might be best man to speak to.

Hokey Dokey timmy boy......

I think macca's are from Luke, which are just plain coloured dials, these are the Indiglo ones, changes from Blue to Green as you wish, can do the ones like macca's in some weird colours, some nice metallics, even with flips in, so keep yers all posted.

Yep I’m up for those. Always liked the reverse type, which look really cool at night. Not sure, but I think you can also get indiglo needles as well.

C'mon guys, there was masses of interest on this some time ago, all i'm after is somesort of Zed related logo to on the dials, got a chance to have something tailor made to our liking.

smithy cool.gif

Is there much room on the dial. After the MPH and the KPH in the middle there aint much room!

How about the Z, or even the 300ZX like its shown on the back of the car. So its not filled but just have the outline of the lettern and numbers

Stuart

Smithy - wait till tomorrow, I'll take some pics of my Jap 300kph clocks, which have a nice Z logo on them (I *think* they are Nismo clocks)..

Not now tho coz it's 2am and I'm phuket!

And yes yes yes please! smile.gif

OK I just took a lovely pic.. but er..

Forgot to bring the lead in to connect the camera to the PC! (slaps head) duh.. thickoid huh! smile.gif

How about the centre part of the forum logo (the yellow bit) in red, with just "300zx" under it? If Craig will let us borrow the image, that is smile.gif

ho yes I think I can do with some of those,

I guess we can get indiglo nedles (I hope)

and will the logo be made as indiglo as well?..

about the logo, you say accross to 2 main dilas, do you mean something that is split in half across the 2 dials since the dial will be close together?...

what about some thing like

T300zxT

with both Ts bigger (in proportion) than the "300zx" bit.. a bit like if the 300zx part is distance... well if you split this across 2 dials it may actually look shit and messy smile.gif

then again a nice stylish " Z " would be cleaner and better... I better do some image if I get 5 spare minutes and the boss off my back!

Smithy do you have some pic we can see of the samples in differnet colors... metallic, flip etc?

Yes, I'll be up for a set of these too.

Cheers

Anita.

Hi Smithy,

Count me in as well.

Also you do the hard pipe kits??

Can you send us a price for those.

Also the clear side repeaters.

Thanks,

Leigh

Leigh, you got mail bud, yes i thought about a nice big dark coloured Z symbol, 1 on each of the 2 main dials, filling the space in the centre where there are no numbers, got that piccie of the Nismo set ???

smithy cool.gif

Smithy - yeah, just no way of getting it onto a PC... d'oh! Will do that tonight when I'm back at home (where the data cable is)..

Right, whats the best way of getting the dials off with out damaging them. The ones of the set where the speedo didnt work are being used and I need the dial cards off.

Any ideas?

Stuart

As promised

300kph_clocks.jpg

On close inspection it doesn't look as good as it did in my mind originally.. smile.gif

And Stuart - spill wink.gif How did you get the dials off? I might be doing this very soon to put MPH clocks on..

Pull the needle off with your fingers, and then just peel off the dial carfully. Dont pull one end, pull some off one side then the other and work your way round.

Thing is that, you have to put the needle back in the same place. I think a little fiddling will be needed.

Stuart

whosever 300kph speedo pic that is - think you'd better find your vacumn leak... that seems to be quite low vacumn for a warm idle...

Rowan,

that'll be my vacuum guage frown.gif

The needle actually sits slightly +ve of 0 with the engine off, if you imagine the needle about the same distance the other side of the line that it's just to the right of, thats where it should really read.. (I'll know for sure when I finally hook my digital guage up)..

Trouble is, I've been all round the engine, disconnecting hoses, plugging them etc, and none of them have made any difference to my idle problem (so assuming the two are related for a second...) frown.gif That doesn't leave many options..

Upper intake to lower intake gasket is new (in fact, changed twice a fortnight ago), lower intake gaskets? Just a hose? Perhaps more than one?

Maybe I should block them all off (bar the boost guage itself!) and see where it sits then...

aaron don't take much notice of the stock boost gauge, you should know that by now mate, when I back off at 100 my aftermarket will read -20 and the stock one will measure -8 (stock gauge=total shite)!!!

When I changed my dials over to the newer set, my boost gauge was completly different.
