Don't pay too much attention to the stock gauge - get an aftermarket one, and you'll see how innacurate it is!

an aftermarket one easy to fit??? i.e spilitting pipes etc and getting them into cockpit, they come with instructions?

was going to get the 3 dials in centre below radio oil pressure, temp, and boost.

so if thats not accurate how about the boost one>??

erm... ditto I'm afraid!! Gauges not too hard to fit - most problematic one is the oil as the obvious point to use is the US spec sender location, but you need an elbow to clear the column! Neatest option is to get a greddy sandwich plate - see chris@getgreddy in the traders section.

Yeah apparantly fitting an oil plate between block and filter is the way. Spoken to a few people and reckon its a very quick job, might as well change the oil at the same time. In total probably less than an hour.

But I am doing it on the weekend, ill see how easy it is.

yea let us know, take some piccys when ur doing it too hehe :P

My stock oil pressure needle does exactly the same as yours! Sits in all the same places! Got a aftermarket gauge, but haven't a clue how to fit it! Stock boost gauge is also very inaccurate, i managed to fit an aftermarket one and its miles better!

thats all good then just was worrying for a moment

Im fitting a water , boost and oil pressure gauge when they arrive from ebay, as stated the oil pressure will be the hardest, would advise a water temp gauge as well as the standard water temp gauge is awfull and you could be overheating and not realise

Im doing similiar, fitting boost, oil temp and oil pressure now into my A-pillar pod.

A-Pillar Pod

Then in a couple of months fitting water temp, volts and another into the dash I think. I love gauges lol.

Errm, sorry to hijack, but I did this and (I think) some part of the steering knocked the sender off leaving my car pi55ing oil all over my work car park. I was lucky to get to work I reckon, 10 miles, would have been a bitch if it had come off on motorway.

Help peeps, what did I do wrong, I also need a new sender as the old one is well and truly fooked :headvswal :headvswal

Not 100% sure as I havent done it yet, but I imagine you have put the block in with the senders and connections in at the closest side of the wheel. It would be best to fit so that eveything if facing towards the middle of the car. I may be wrong but thats my 2p worth.

Is it the sendor thats rubbish or the gauge or both .Will fitting a new sendor cure this problem on the standard gauge if so has anyone changed one how hard is it to change and how much is a new sendor thanks taff.

Ive heard most senders are fooked after a while so might be best to go for a aftermarket gauge (for accuracy)and pod.I run both standard guage and pod but there isnt much difference between them
