Had a Monza Gse in 1989 bloody fast car in its day 3 Litre injection straight 6 with 190 bhp rear whel drive, recaro seats and that digital dash, made many journeys to the south of France down the auto route de la sol, remember clearly one time having a head to head with a Renault 25 Monaco which I think was a 3litre itself, full laiden ( 2 adults 2 kids and luggage for a fortnights holiday!! had an indicated 151mph on the digit dash and the Renault could not pass although he was level, he ended up saluting us and dropped back..Viva la brits that day, albeit in a German car of course.

I had one in 1988...very nice car , went well , until someone at work said " Your front wheels are tilting in at the top ! " . And they were FFS..anyway , got my cousin`s garage to do some welding and traded it for an Audi 200 Turbo...amazing torque-steer and it fooking leeked . I got what I deserved . LOL

Lovely cars the Monzas. Available for a short period of times as the Vauxhall Royale. AFAIK, there was never an Elite model. Just a GSE and an E...which for all intents and purposes could have ment Elite.

3.0 12v engine, same as the early Senator and Carlton GSis (circa 180bhp). 24v lump drops straight in....and so does an LC engine. ;) Considered doing a project Monza if I could source an LC engine.

This particular example I used to lust at at quite a few of the VBOA shows. Absolutely stunning as the benchmark for my ideas.

I'm sure you'll agree, this is one of the nicests Monzas you've seen.
