ok then, i feel like a right plant pot telling you all this but i think i just want confirmation everything will be ok

on friday i went to ztech foor a chip/boost jets fitting(big thanks to ryan at ztech  car is so much more responsive now and quicker allthough i did find out i need new shockers as well as a couple of other things  )

anyway on the way home needed some petrol so pulls into the services, i always put optimax in but because i was on motorway i went the first available which was a bp, im not(wasnt) familiar with bps super unleaded but found out it was called ULTIMATE any im filling up and i just happened to look at the nozzle and saw DIESEL :headvswal :headvswal FOOKINHELL!!!!

bp's diesels called ultimate as well id put £13worth of diesel in in a tank that was about 1/4 full so i quickly filled it to the brim with super UNLEADED, it struggled to start at the garage but once it got going all seemed ok i managed to get home only prob was alot of light grey smoke(not black as i thought)

i feel such a fookin muppet :xxx: :xxx:

Dont feel like a clot matey ive nearly done that so many times is the zed running allright it would be a good idea to drain that lot off i think

lol, plenty of the guys in work do that but the other way round, ie petrol in their diesel vans.

Guys always get a lot of stick for it.

There is a tell tale sign when filling it up, not a lot of people know this though. If your car is a diesel use the diesel pump, if it is petrol use the petrol pump. Sorry had to say it, can be misleading with labelling both the same.

well seen as i was driving past tamworth at the time i got the wife to ring zedworld who said to run this tank out then fill back up with optimax and and some injector cleaner, i just cant believe ive done this im usualy so carefull with this kind of thing, it was with both the UNLEADED and DIESEL been called ULTIMATE, i cant make excuses though as one was light blue and the other dark blue :wack:

well aparentley its worse to put diesel in a petrol engine than the other way around as it burns the the pistons or sumat...so ive heard anyway

WHATEVER!!! :wack:

diesel in petrol engine is fine usually you either drain it out or drive it out, it can mess up the fuel filter usually good idea to change, however put petrol in a diesel engine and you will kill it as petrol doesnt have the cooling factors like diesel and will kill the diesel engine..

saw it on tv last night!!! new proggy called "the garage" fookin funny prog

ive seen a wee bit of that, quite funny sometimes. I thought it was going to be a lot of *****x. But as I find every sunday morning lying in bed watching car programs all day, how many reruns of top gear

it certainly wouldnt do the injectors much good :wack:

as long as you have weakened the mixture with unleaded and use a good quality fuel straight after, you should be fine

ps..didnt realise that was you on friday si,looking at your signature i thought it was red,so looks like we are both guilty of being colour blind lol

just been for a run in the zed and seems to be driving ok, just a bit of smoke when you put the foot down and change gear(everyone admires the car as ya drive past and then a plume of smoke comesout the exhuast(not very cool  :headvswal ),

funny how the petrol lasts longer when ya dont want it to :headvswal

i did the same in my zed last year put a £10 of desiel in :headvswal

i did the same filled up with unleaded and ran it till empty and replaced the fuel filtter and was fine !!!

how did it run before the tank was empty, just been out in mine today and engine was sounding a bit rough it was ok at high revs but a bit ropey just cruising and now and again when accelorating just wondering if its down to idiosity or another problem, s'pose its hard to say just yet

Don't worry......

....a little diesel in a petrol engine can make a good upper cylinder lubricant :x:

Much worse to put petrol oin a diesel car and start it :smash:

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
