Due to recent events of part time lovers hounding me I have lost total touch with reality and hence asking basic questions again:

how the fu*k do you stick wire mesh behind bumpers ?

Featured Replies

4 inch screws should hold it in nice and securely, or for a more professional finish try using Tigaseal, others have mixed up some glass fibre and spread it on the inside of the bumper / mesh where it will not be seen.

Thanks guys, however, where do I buy Tigaseal or Sikaflex 221 from and how much does it cost ? I mean are they special glue or something ?

Isnt sikaflex used to bond winscreens in try autoglass what about no nails BaQ.

I used no more nails on the calibra once, was fine until it rained then I was left with a white residue everywhere.

bodyfiller - local motorfactors - about £5.

done all mine ok.

Shape the mesh around with about an inch lip. Tube of gripfil (£2) rubbed over, leave for 24hrs (set). Done mine a couple of years ago no probs.

Shape the mesh so it folds in around the inside of the opening, put a couple of cable ties through it and a couple of wood bits through the cable ties against the outer part of the bumper to hold in place. Squirt Grip-Fill over the inside (bent over part) of the mesh, or use your hands to apply (rubber gloves are optional). This is how the guy

did it to his Cobra in a "Car is born" and it's worked for me.
