I'm sure you have heard this before, but i was offered 2 sets of brake discs ie. front and rear from my local Nissan dealer. He wants 280 euro for the front pair and 184 euro for the rear pair. Is this a reasonable price or should i be buying aftermarket items such as 3G or Brembo etc. I thought they sounded cheap but I'm not sure :)

Just get some motorfactor blueprint [ADL]discs mate cheap £50 each and the same quility as nissan .I wouldnt bother with any fancey grooved/ drilled /names written on discs there a waste of money.

Get in touch with a Motor Factor or order some from either the US or the UK (try one of the traders here). I do no use Nissan Ireland for any parts since there quotes always tend to be the most expensive you can get. I have had my car over 5 years, and my view is that you are better off importing parts from the US if not urgent or use the like of MJP (or other trader on this forum). Better service and lower prices.

i got EBC spot drilled & grooved discs and kevlar EBC pads from jeff at ZED WORLD, TAMWORTH and they are fantastic!!!!!

10 non stop laps of SILVERSTONE circuit and no fade!!!!!

how you can justify saying "fancy grooved/drilled/named discs are a waste of money" i will never know.

GET IN THE REAL WORLD TAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can warp cheap discs in 1 night of hard driving!!!!!

Nissan quoted myself £104 for front pair of discs, didn't get a quote on rears. However for the same total I have had Brembo discs supplied and fitted. Shop around is my advice.

Speak to Smithy as he stocks DBA Discs and Porterfield pads they are better than 3G. IMO

Disagree 3G use Brembo which are without doubt the worlds leading brake disc supplier , I had two sets of DBA gold when they first came out and warped both within weeks , never really heard any good reports on them since IMHO

If nissan quoted £104 for a pair of fronts , go for these this sounds cheap for nissan prices.I expected them to be that much each. :duffer: :duffer:

Geez twice in 2 days, keep it up son, IMHO :)

Richie which ever brand you buy there will always be difference of opinions.

When it comes to brakes so many other factors come into play, the state of pads, the brand you use, the lines being spongy, the fluid needing replaced etc, these all play a factor within each other for an overall effect.

All the brands listed here have proved their worth with different customers, suggest you search either on here or google for the best feedback from clubs.

Just 1 word of warning, if you decide Brembo, ensure they infact not copies, this link will help you.
