Perspex Tail Gate Skin

I am a bit confused here thus someone please elaborate. I have a stock spoiler with the black strip going underneath it from end to end. Now if I was to fit a perspex cover, will that replace the strip or will I need to get rid of the entire spoiler for it to fit. Basically, that damn strip is a nuisance and I have replaced it a few times but it always seems to look kak as it bubbles up etc. I need to find a solution to this.
