My Jap TT has had the right connections fitted , but my ( Goodmans ) cage won`t go in the hole--I`ve scratched the corners to fook . Does the panel have to come out of the dash , or should I just put the ( cage-less ) head unit in the hole and hope it doesn`t fall in under heavy braking ? :headvswal LOL

Remove the centre console trim. Its only 4 screws. 2 under the blanking covers at top and 2 under the blanking strip below vents.

I did that , but the player still won`t lock into the cage ( I`m using the bottom slot ) . On top of that , I didn`t disconnect the battery in case I lost any settings . Result : Player doesn`t work , central locking doesn`t work on the passenger door , and the Clifford alarm/immobiliser is indicating a fault ( 2 Chirps , then 4 ) , and the clock doesn`t work now either :headvswal

heres the wiring code and what they do..

Ground - black

Accessories - red

Permanent battery - yellow

Rear right positive - brown

Rear right negative - black/red (2 of these!)

Rear left positive - blue

Rear left negative - black and white

Front right positive - orange

Front right negative - black and purple

Front left positive - green

Front left negative - black and yellow

Antenna - black and red (test these out because there are 2 black/red wires)

Thanks mate . I actually connected all the wires to like colours , as the previous owner had them connected .

Gonna check the fuses now...if I can find a Japanese midget to get at that conveniently positioned fuse box under the dash :headvswal LOL

It was fuses ! Got CD working  And clock  and passenger door-lock

As for the cage , well , B*ll*cks to it , I`m not spending another hour wrestling with THAT fooker , I`m gonna " Let it LIE "

Thanks for all the tips , guys
