This may be a no brainer but I work away for 2 weeks at a time. Meaning that I only see the Z 2 days a fortnight  . Everytime I come back the brakes are ceased.

Is there anyway of preventing this occuring? Mines is an Auto so I just leave it in Park with the Handbrake off.

TIA,

Not sure but can I come and visit you one day and surf Thurso!!

I used to leave mine for extended time when I went away and it was just a minor clunk to free them. I guess the sea air makes it worse as they corrode faster.Maybe just something silly like a thin plastic sheet under the brakes would do the trick? if it would fit in there??

I have only taken the car up here once. I always leave it at my other house in Dundee. I get a better use out of it there and put less milage on it.

Come up to Thurso anytime you want. Surfing is meant to be quite big up here but I have never bothered, too busy working my 12 hour shifts. I wouldnt recommend surfing today though as I cant see a thing with snow.

Think I will get a good snowball fight later.

Back to the salty sea air. We bought brand new drill rigs for the contract we are on around this time last year. Typically we get a good 10 years from drill rigs before any major overhauling is required. But from the look of it (sea air corroding parts etc) we might only get 2-3 years. Pretty rubbish for pieces of kit that cost us the best part of half a million. And we are already ordering our next 2 rigs.
