guys , im going abroad for about 8 months and my zed is staying here in a garage. Does this pose a potential problem doing this ??? i.e when i get back and try to start it, the engine is seized where its not been run for so long . Or is there anything else that could happen if you leave it standing for a long period of time ????

the battery will go flat and try and get the wheels off the ground to prevent the tyres perishing

yeah cool i can live with that as long as the engine dont seize up

and dont leave the handbrake on itll seize on, very important. ideally just get someone to turn it over every week or so, if u trust them that much!

engine should be fine but you will most likely get tappet noise when you start it but that should clear up after you run it

It would be rather good if you can get someone you trust to start it up every month at least up to operating temp ...

 

Dont leave the handbrake on either, block the wheels ....

 

I'm no expert but this seems to make sense to me ..

forget to add, battery conditioner would be useful as well.

def handbrake off as this will sieze if left on

Just dis-connect the + from the battery terminal..

My Z31 was in storage for a while and the handbrake was up. When it was finally started again, the cable was severley jammed. The hand went down but wouldn't release the mechanism. At the end I dragged the car in first gear for half a mile before it unlocked !
