if the steering wheel is on tight, you could have warped discs.

Just to add to your list of problems!

...high speed brake judder could be knackered tie-rod bushes - low speed squeeling could be fixed by putting copper ease behind the pads.

Ongoing maintenance.

Good luck

...I've had worse brakes. You should try my wife's Saab!

I think that the brakes are ok as long as you maintain them. If the cars an Auto, pump the brakes to cool them. don't come to a halt holding the pedal down, the hot disks will contract as they cool and if the pads are masked onto the disk co your right foot, the disks cool and shrink at an un-even rate hence warped disks. Not so much a problem with manual cars as you tend to stop and take it out of gear.

Also, take the pads out (always buy good pads) and push the pistons in - do this a few times a year - and your brakes will be ok. Copper ease between the surfaces of the pistind and the pads and any surface that the pads touch (minus the disks) will help too.

Interesting, I didn't know Autos were more prone to warping.

everyday is a school day!

describe what happens bud , when you brake, does it feel like the pedal is pushing back , as im pretty sure its not because there warped if not , if when your braking it feels like the cars braking on and off even though the pedal is depressed all the ti then its sticking calipers , worst case overhaul kit from mike pheeny mjp 38 pounds i beleive plus doing it your self,

andrew page 125 quid just got mine blueprint stuff its probably the backing plates touching the discs not sure about the rattle though.

they are fooked cause i drove your car, "new tyres every 3.5 months, new brake pads and discs every 5-6 months

You aren't having much luck with you car are you mate ...

Dont worry .. the worm will turn ...

keep positive mate.

Dont understand you mate haven't you been advised not to drive the car till you've got the timing sorted because you could blow the engine?

No sympathy when it does
