just a question regarding 95 octane and 97 octane.......i put a mixture in my zed today 10 litres of each...took it for a blast and noticed at the top rev range the car seemed to be holding back? could this be due to the 95 octane fuel or a pissing sensor some where.....any comments?

It's unlikely to be the petrol causing your problem.

The ZX should run up to 1bar boost on normal unleaded and the revs are smooth all the way through!

How much boost are you running and is your Z auto or manual?

It could be a number of things but this would occur when the air/fuel mixture isn't right or worst case ~ detonation.

Check the coolant temperature sender as this can cause you to run very rich.

hi there steve e well this is were the story starts....when i first got the car the waste gates were disconected so it was running unlimited boost up to 4000- rpm i also had a problem with starting it from hot? after replacing all the fuel hoses and re-conecting the waste gates this got rid of all the problems apart from a slight hesitation at high revs i put this down to shitty fuel but i have had the old problem back of not being able to start it when it gets hot? i have cleaned all the conections and the tps and it seemed to of cleared all the problems apart from the hesitation at high rpm....could this be to a faulty temp sensor,my mate at my local garage seems to think that it is pushing out more than standard boost?.........

it is a manual by the way.......also the fan seems to cut in when it wants to even when cold?

Craig, see my comments above about the temperature sender :-) :-) :-)

Jizz, change that sensor and clean the electrical connector.

(The Bill is in the post ;-))
