 Hi guys. Can anyone tell me the best thing to remove cheap aftermarket badges? Y'now, the type with that nasty sponge tape stuff. One colleague suggested lighter fluid. I'm not convinced. Any help would be appreciated.

Gentle heat (a tea towel dipped in near boiling water or a hair dryer on a warm setting) can soften the glue. Then peel off, then clean any residue with a powerful solvent (petrol, lighter fluid, meths, brake cleaner etc)

heat gun at distance set on low heat, peels straight off.

dont forget petrol that works wonders unleaded LOL!!

Surely Optimax is better on a z? ;)

Go to a motor factor and get a Caramel wheel , these are designed to remove double sided tape and stripes without damaging the paintwork , its a soft rubber wheel on a mandrel , put it in a drill and rub all the tape off , works a treat and only takes a minute to do.

You could always use a stanley knife and then you will have an excellent excuse for a re-spray.
