Hi all,

My car is smoking really hard when I leave the foot off the accelerator.

For example in downhill it makes clouds of white smoke…at least it seems white from the rear viewer.

When boosting I can’t find no traces of smoke whatsoever.

I recently installed aftermarket downpipes and testpipes…about 300 miles.

I checked compression recently and it was within acceptable levels.

Boost hold on just fine and the car is performing as “normal”.

I’ve checked oil and there is no sign of contamination….the level it’s ok.

Water level is also ok and no signs of oil.

Anyone care to help?

is it a turbo? , sounds like when you lift your foot of the gas when on boost, on the over run, the rear seals on the turbos are leaking oil, hence the smoke...

oooh, I can hear the arguments now!! Try searching for "decat turbo seals" lots of interesting info/ arguments about the subject!

what coulor is the smoke fella? generally blue smoke is burnt smoke from your cylinders, where a greyish smoke would be tubs,

i had no smoke when i booted it but loads of smoke on overun like yours

it was my piston rings that were sticking,

are u using any oil at all??

pcv valves maybe??

The smoke seems to be white/gray…I don’t notice any bluish tone.

Past week I’ve done a compression test and it was ok in all cylinders, so It’s unlikely that piston rings are worn or sticking.

I’m using the same oil for a long time. haven’t really checked the PCV valves.

keep an eye on the oil level and water level, grey sounds a bit like tubs, where are you from matey anyone around you that can have a look?

ive got same problem had enginner out left bank turbo seal gone,so now saving hard every time i get close something else crops up, arhhhhh soles.recent exhaust fitted did you say and decatted here come the arguements again.sorry bud.

That usually is accompanied with crankcase presure and dipstick poping out.
