Hi,

Took my speedo out of the car again this afternoon to fit a new convertor, but was wondering where the fuel needle should be when the "Low Fuel" warning light comes on?

Yes, I know it shouldn't get that low, but noticed mine came on just as the needle touched the "E" bar on the scale.

Is this right?

If it's wrong, I'd like to correct it while the speedo is out and on my table LOL.

Graham.

Mine is the same I think as the only time I have ever seen it come on is when the bloke I bought it off said I could take it for a test drive as long as I put some petrol in it so he gave me a tenner. I looked at the gauge on the way to the petrol station and the needle was nearly on empty then, but when I was nearing a petrol station the light came on and the needle was on empty. So basically fook all petrol left when the petrol light comes on. HTH

The light always comes on for me when it hits the bottom line and I have done 40 miles after the light came on because I have balls of steel (or brains of sh1te  )

About 3 times a week, or whenever you've taken a trip to the nearest supermarket, whichever comes first.

Thanks guys.

How much petrol left after the light comes on then??

enough to get me 7 miles on sensable driving thats it ive never ran it out and don't intend to LOL

I've never seen the light come on ever! Had the car for nearly 8 years now and I've let it run low a few times!

Thanks guys.

I do'nt want to find out as it's not good to run an engine dry.

I've had the light on for about 20 miles and at that time, only managed to get 63 litres in. I thought the tank was 72 litres?

On mine you can do 20-30 miles with the light on, have done a little more on occasion. Expect to put in 65-68 litres after that though.

how many miles u get to a tank turbo zeds wise? n optimax for those of us with uk ones, mines jap so optimax is a must :O

brought mine but not collected yet :( cant wait tho friday :P

Really, why? I thought the combination of knock sensors, coilpack ignition and fuel injection should allow you to practically run it on meths if you needed to?

Unfortunatley not, and especially not if you've raised the boost and it's a hot day ....

Hmm, does that just apply to turbos then or are N/As dependant on Super as well? If so, I think I'll be named Optimax customer of the year :(.
