HICAS warning...why??

Hi all,

 

My Zed's HICAS light came on and we topped it up with Powersteering fluid. I went off for 2 days but now its on again. There doesn't seem to be a leak....it comes on and off and been doing it all day..dont think its the electrics playing up. Any ideas?? :headvswal

    Low PAS fluid, has to be topped right up.

     

    Is speedo working fine?

     

    Have you removed setteing wheel recently?

    hI.the speedo did stick when we first got the car but had it replaced and its fine now. When it stuck there was no powersteering what so ever. It seems ok. No the steering wheels not been touched.

     

    The powersteering fluid is just above the level now

    Yeah, but watch that because I seem to remember that the *bottom* of the float has to be between the two markers, and *not* the top. If it's just the top you still haven't got enough in there. If you got this right the first time around, which you might well have done, I apologise. I just had to do a double-take at the manual myself when I did mine.

    komarme - ive had that recently >> what does that mean? I know my PAS fluid level is low as the HICAS light comes on then goes off after a bit when the car warms up and the fluid level expands a bit but wondered about the power light flashing!

    Hi komarme !

     

    No..the power light doesn't flash. We topped up the powersteering fluid to the brim...it hasnt come on yet (well for 2 days!)

    I hope that solves it?!!

    Oh dear...i've spotted fluid pi55ing out under the car today :x: hope its not the rack..

    Well thats the Z off the road until its sorted :cry:
