Plus it can never happen. It is the driver who is breaking the law when speeding and the driver who is punnished.

But with no Tax, it is the car that is illegal and to rid the country of illegal cars they are crushed.

Perhaps I misinterperated it and it's the drivers they would like to crush! biggrin.gif

i agree with andyp , you cant rely on your speedo to be 100% accurate, even the police when they set speed cams use the rule of thumb guide of 10% plus 3. so in theory you shouldnt get nabbed until you do 80 on the motorway... 70 + 10%= 77 +3 =80. i must note however that the plus 3 bit of the equation can vary from force to force.. some maybe plus 1, others plus 5.

this is also why all that stink a year or so ago about nicking you when you are 1mph over the limit was bullshit.. even the police know that car speedos are inaccurate.

I wish that was true Scoops, but I got done for doing for doing 43 in a 40 zone. The fuzz suck.

Should have asked to see a valid calibration certificate for te equipment they were using, if they can't produce it, your word against their's and they have no proof as the speed gun/trap/whatever may not be in calibration.

They have not got a leg to stand on.

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

I tried that one Mat Lad! With me old man being a radio officer in the Merch he knew a thing about dopplar shift and radar etc.

When I was invited to watch a "You've been Framed!" clip of myself in the warm confines of a T-5 on the M11, coppers couldn't get the speed reading to come up. Kept saying CAL, he kept pushing a button and it still kept saying CAL for about another 3 times until finally he dragged my speed up!

So when I mentioned this to my brief she said don't bother wasting your time. Even if they haven't calibrated it they'll produce some paperwork to say they did! Fuckers! mad.gif

Bent Rozzers everywhere!
