anybody.......please ????

I would love to help mate never had to change them it cant be that hard can it? got any pictures of novas smashed up like that saxo lol

They are indeed a PITA to get out. It's a bit of a long way around but it is a lot easier if you remove the whole light unit from the car. Four bolts underneath the light and you can pull the light forward just far enough to get the H1 bulb out.

LOL!!! Always wondered what "PITA" actually stood for in reading these threads and now I know or guess it stands for "Pain In The Ass!" after doing mine the other week myself!!! It is possible but yep, red raw hands are garunteed every time!

thanks mate, I was going to remove the light unit, and the bumper to get to the light unit, but I was hoping there was an easier way.......

so the hard way it is then !!

thanks

Andy...

I had nightmares getting mine out...BUT! That said once you have done it is quite easy. I cant really give you much more than this: Pinch the retaining clips together and wiggle them. Keep at it and you will see what I mean. I hurt my hands but managed in the end. The trick is not to try to get the bulb out until the clip is released. If that makes sense? Now i have done it I can remove the bulb in seconds.

Andy -

You don't have to remove the bumper to undo the light units. Remove the wheelarch liner and you'll be able to get to two of the four bolts. Remove headlight panel as well as the leccy fan (held by only two bolts at the top) and you'll be able to get to the other two. Then you can pull the light forward just far enough to gain easy access to the light bulbs.

PS - I'm doing this operation myself next weekend as I'm swappping headlights for ones which I've cleaned (on the inside) and re-installing my HID kit.

Throwing it up the wall is ok so long as it doesn't land on the Zed's windscreen :o

Good luck mate!

Listen to this man.....

...DO NOT REMOVE THE LIGHTS!!!

I have managed to change 3 sets of main beam bulbs now using this method. I can do the pair in under 15 minutes mate!

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
