Engine Limits..

Hi Y'all..

Can anyone tell me how many miles the 300z's engines good for? (I know piece of string and all that, but genarally?) and what and when- as in how many miles is best to be done/replaced on the engine?

Going to take a look at a Z at the weekend - its a UK model with 83,000 miles on , no rust and a Full service history apparently...

Thanks

Ed

keep changing the oil and servicing it till it starts chapping like a bolt in a bean can.

then replace it,

youl soon know when it needs doing. if it runs smooth at the minute then itl likely be good,

most Z's on here will be well over 100,000 miles so i wouldnt worry about it for a while yet.

good luck, hope it turns out alright at the weekend

right o' cheers.

I've seen numerous Zeds over here in Holland with well over 150000 miles.

Highest mileage on a TT I've seen was 194000 miles and it was still running pretty good

Good and regular maintenance is the keyword.

yes, miles.

Zeds with >240000km/150000ml are no exception.

Oh great, so 83,000 miles isnt so bad then..

thanks

Mine has 160,000 miles, uk spec, original tubs, engine never been rebuilt, heads never been off, previous owner changed oil every 3k ( i have all the receipts !!).

I am presently putting a new timing belt on it (it's third)

Runs sweet as a nut, I think servicing and good maintenance is the key, which aint cheap, but will pay dividends in the long term..

Mine has 175K kilometers on it and runs sweet as the proverbial.

In my ownership (2 years) it has never been booted from cold, has had regular oil changes with quality oil and OEM filters.

Always starts first time, even after 2 weeks of not being used.

Oh, and it's an NA

Cambelt=timing belt. It should be changed as part of the 60k service which speciaists charge between £400 and £500 for and includes other items like waterpump, thermostat...etc
