I blew up a Mk II Golf GTi on a test drive a few years back. I felt pretty guilty at the time, but nothing compared to that one!

Jeff, pinch the PAS pot and get it sent up ere before anyone notices! ;) :D

Ooopsie!!

Glad the lad is OK, but nooooooooo, the Z is Dead! :(

I wonder what would happen if you were to crash a car when test driving it, surely you cant just walk away without paying anything can you?

Thats what the dealers insurance is for, and why its important in private sales to ensure the buyer has adequate insurance before a test drive.

Crikes! imagine what would have happened if he'd taken a TT out!!

glad he was ok tho - learned his lesson not to mess about with that much power ;)

I see the zeds brakes are as good as ever  , glad to see everyone was ok.

I took a Jaguar out on test drive a fews years ago, and had only gone about 3 miles and it felt sluggish. When I looked at the clocks the water temperature was off the gauge. It had boiled and practically seized. The oil pressure was '0'. Something pretty serious was going down here. I parked up and walked back to the garage and told them what had happened, got in my car and left. Obviously needed a service....
