I work from home as an Internet consultant to a Large International IT Business software company, and have done so for the past 6 years.

 

Got called to visit the head office today....190 miles away (6 hour round trip :mad: ) for a 30mins meeting :xxx: ....whereapon Im told I am being made redundant ! :headvswal :cry:

 

ho hum :(

ohhh mate, i really feel for you.

 

im sure you will find a better job, but try not to worry in the meantime mate.

if you have been working from home bud couldn't you continue it as self employed . you know your stuff, so do your own business!

Cheers guys. As it happens, I do also run a Business on the side providing Website hosting, design & Development for small-Medium businesses. This has always been a part-time venture, so perhaps its time to fully concentrate on it.

 

I've also built and Installed several Karputers / Carputers / In-car PC's and have had many requests.....so thats another idea

Been made redundant 4 times before mate !

Always another avenue to explore. Take some time out, have a wee rest and a think about it, and then decide.

Sorry to hear it, mate..... but bear in mind that to get a great job you have to leave a not-so-great one first. With your line of work, you'll be sorted soon and then you can think of the redundancy payment as a bonus.
