Ok guys after I've had my steering sorted in march I'm going to be looking at tuning the engine. What I really want is a more responsive engine. I'm not particularly looking for higher rpm limits or more power. I'm just going to concentrate on response.

 

I'm expecting to see things in here like improved air intakes and dump valves and maybe a lightened and balanced fly wheel? I've also been told that I can get the engine chipped to make it more responsive?

 

What I really want to know is WHY will these things work and WHAT will each one do? Also I'd like to know if anyone has any advice on which one will give the biggest improvements offset against money, what order I should look at doing the mods and where should I get them done/what manufacturers should I look at!

 

That little lot should keep you all busy for a while and hopefully other people will be interested to know these things too!

Filter - let air in - more power

Zaust - let it out - more power

Plugs colder heat range to allow more boost

Chip - allows more fueling etc for more boost

Boost controller - adjust boost from in the car - more power

Underdrive pulley less work for the crank to do - more power

 

 

 

After that you'll then need

 

Uprated Clutch if it's a manual or fast road auto box

Light Flywheel

Uprated Intercoolers

De Cat

Koyo Rad

 

That should see you running lots n lots more power and a much improved response from the engine. Give us a bell if you'd like to discuss :)

Decat, Manifolds, Divorced Wastegate Turbo elbows, Lightened Flywheel, Chip & Boost controller(instead of boost jets) will all add responsiveness and quicker spool.

lmao im not quite ready for it yet mate - I've just had YET ANOTHER PROBLEM with the car. Was driving home yesterday and some lights changed on me so i put my foot on the brakes pretty hard and the car seemed to break unevenly then i had a knocking sound that changed with speed and went away when i turned right or put my foot on the brakes! So i pulled in asap and looked but couldnt see anything. I limped home and dropped her in at the garage today. I think its the calliper on the NS front wheel the pad seems to be moving around all over the place in there so i just dropped it in at a trusted local garage rather than bother a specialist.

 

I will definately call you as soon as I am ready (and have the money - which at this rate might be a while!)
