scuttle panel you mean the bit at the bottom of the windscreen? mine is pretty faded from the sun and age.... was hoping back to black might help...

Yeah...back to black won't make much of a difference as its original finish is like an anthracite (dark metallic grey).

My car is in very very good condition bodywork wise and little things like that, just finish it off.

boost jets nice idea, but decided to go for a profec... be better if i can get the damn thing to work lol :headvswal

anything you can do to clean up the scuttle panels or they need replacing?

You can respray them, but the paint will flake off fiarly quickly due to some areas being unreachable by sandpaper.

new ones it is then... guessing mr nissan will charge a prince - ly sum for them?

I'm glad this topic came up. I need a replacement scuttle panel too, mine has cracked.

I was thinking about going along to a breakers to find what I am after.

Geeky - let me know what you find out about prices etc.

Thanks, Mike...

painted mine on my previous Z - used ford graphite grey from Harry's - sanded and even filled pitted parts - came uplike new and lasted about 5 years before a re-spray...

easy job and cheap.

good luck

I'm glad you say that as I'm about to do mine, when I get the time. Won't help the growing patch of flaking paint on the front bumper though! Need to get that resprayed. :headvswal Actually does anyone know the average price for a 99spec respray also what is the colour code (in my sig)? My dad is a sprayer but he is down in Cornwall.

had my front bumper sprayed but was a ££ in hand type of job... Think i might go for sanding down my scuttle panel and then laquer and see how it lasts... cheers guys

Think it's AG2... simple job if it's the textured bit of the spoiler - aerosol can AG2 then clear laquer - you just need a dry preferably warm sunny day - so wait till summer.

Good luck

what is the colour code (in my sig)? My dad is a sprayer but he is down in Cornwall.

AG2, same as mine its a solid colour basecoat.

There are infact 4 different shades of AG2. I know because I have just had 3 spray cans made up of the colour 2 days ago. My code is "AG2 G" Its also a clear over base colour.

...the mans right - I think mine had a G in the code. It was a while ago, current Z colour is called midnight purple pearl... They don't do it in Harry's...

Its probably just the one colour origionally but over the years of use the colour has varied a little and the paint manufacturers have compensated for this with different shades, usually No1 shade = the origional colour, B = bluer shade, G = greener shade etc etc.

...mine was about 5 different shades of red... Had to vary the paint depending upon which part of the car I was painting - and do whole panels...
