I saw one today in a local sports car outlet. £17.000. Is that cheap? its a 1993 in red. I dont want it but I have been told that they are about £60.000 or something  I am not just saying this for obvious reasons but. I much perfer the looks of the (300ZX. )

It's gonna be the replacement for my Zed for sure. Deffo want one in a few years. :D

yes 15k upwards for a good one, i almost bought one.

if you think the zed is expensive if it goes wrong try that!! all aluminium body panels, lots of cutom parts.. fook the list goes on, nice to drive though.. you can still buy them new from some dealers at the 50k up mark

Yup, one of the ships we had in at Portbury had one all wrapped up in the corner. AFAIK, they have now stopped production of them.

That'll prob be the earlier 3.0L V6 model rather then the more potential 3.2L V6. Sounds right for that price and yes they did cost around £60k when new. At least it's kept it's value alot better then the 300ZX ever did!

It's the only other car I would consider. They're holding value speaks volumes. Except I still hate the rear end. dunno , it just looks cheap. The rest of the car is stunning. Bit like the Z32 now , technology has surpassed it, but it's got that rare desirable quality

I've owned a US-spec 1995 NSX-T (back in the late 90s when I was based in the US) and can very easily state that they are in a completely different class to our Z32s. NSXs were race-bred and at the forefront of technology (at the time). I'd have one again and even considered it a couple of months ago when a very nice black 3.0 coupe came up for sale locally. Despite the fact that I don't have the finances to own one the funny thing is that it would have cost about half of what I pay now in insurance cost and the car (NSX) is younger, more powerful and more expensive to fix! Go figure!

I've got quite a few NSX clients as part of my DTA business and for a lot of them the "next step up" is a Lambo Murcielago ...

I suggest that if you're serious about buying an NSX (and have the bank balance to cope with the running expenses) that you have a look around their pitch at this year's JAE show (I think they're co-exhibiting with the S2000 boys again). Last year they had a rare-as-rockinghorse sh*t NSX-R on display. It was subsequently sold for an undisclosed sum in the region of £100K!

BTW - although the market price of NSX's is coming down somewhat, expect to pay between £20k - £30k for a well looked after 98+ model. Anything less than that will either be a shed or high mileage and abused car.

I've looked and looked at NSXs - they are gorgeous.

They hold their value too well though - although autos can be had cheap.

The interior's a bit dull but I'd still love one.

A guy I work with owns one at the moment. Very nice, FEARSOMLEY expensive for parts - makes a z look cheap. However, they are good cars.

Have you got any example prices of all the usual bits and pieces maintainance-wise? Dave

Lovely cars. The 300zx and NSX are my two favourite Jap sports cars.

I'd never replace the 300zx with one though. I dont believe it warrants the price difference (plus rediculous parts and maintenance) for a car that offers very little(and is many areas, less) over what I have now. Much rather spend the money on the zed.

Will always admire them though.

It does look in nice condition but this shop is very dear, he want £5995 for a silver TT300ZX and £7995 for a convertable 300ZX. so after seeing an old top gear last night on UK People and Clarksons said they are about £70K new (at time of airing) I thought it was a cheap car. Its red and shiney. Might go and take a few pics later. I dont want one BTW. just knew you guys would know about them.
