Koni Shocks & Stock Jap spring pan???

Anyone with a jap import had the "group buy", from johnny grasshopper, koni shocks fitted and had a problem with the front shocker spring pan. My mechanic says the stock ones have the spring pan welded on and there not a spring pan in the koni kit to house the bottom of the spring. did your kit come with this housing or was the original from the stock shocks used????

Help car still on hoist and cant' contact Johnny at the mo

Haven't had mine fitted yet and my car is an UK, BUT, I was told that the spring pan in the kit is for the bottom and you use the current (stock) pan for the top.

Anyone else?

Andy

Cheerz Andrew.... looks like the spring pan from the bottom is missing from the koni kit... Johnny's investigating....

LMFAO. Dont get me started about missing bits from these Koni shox. I bought my shox over a month ago (I think) and I still haven't got them fitted (although the parts have apparently arrived at the dealer now).

I really hope you get sorted out quicker than I did!

BTW, just like to point out that the trouble I've had getting my missing bits for my shox are not at all down to Johnny, it's his supplier. Just wanted to clear that up as my message could be misunderstood (now that I've read it again!).

Better check my set when I get home to make sure that it is all there...what *should* be in the shox box?

AFAICR, there should be the bottom spring pan for each shock, and a couple of plastic bags of bolts etc in each box. Then the actual shox obviously wink.gif

Cheers for that. I'm going back to the folks this weekend so will find the box in the workshop and have a spook to make sure that I have everything.

warren has an import, and he has had his shocks fitted already.

as far as i recall, he had no such problems.

are you sure you still have stock fronts and they haven't been replaced with something else before you got it ?

Craig Robs car is a SWB,I wonder if the shocks are the same as a 2+2???
