Well it's finally arrived, my last day!

I've been here for almost five years now (started in march 2001) and prior to that I was the Site Manager for the construction stage of this project.

I'm proud to say that I saw, and had at least something to do with, the testing of all 53 of Virgin Trains Pendolino class trainsets. I saw the very first one in, and took the last one out. I was in-charge of the very first train to tilt here, and also of the last of the original fleet while it was being commisioned.

I'm not sad to be leaving, as I've never worked for such a crap company in my life!! The only problem with it is that I still don't have a peice of paper saying that I actually have a new job!! So it looks like I'll be gardening for a short while. ;)

The very best of luck Dave hope all goes well for you mate.

I worked for Alstom for a while Dave. Reconditioning rolling stock mainly. I was only there for a short while when I was looking for work. They treated their employees like shite to be honest.

Sad news mate I hope it works out for you. What qualifications do you have?

I am supprised really I have spent the last 5 years in one form or another upgrading the signalling and equipment for the high speed running of these trains oh the west coast main line. Which I gathered meant they were an on going thing? If you have any competencies in train maintainance or operating give me a shout? :)

:x: Sorry to hear this dave maybe ill change my signature to show the final carriage leaving your place :x:

Im sure you wont be a man of leisure for 2 long all the best mate just think of the redundancy ( now wot more could ur Zed want ) money and attention

Cheers guys :) Oh yes the Zed is haveing something spent on it, like getting it back on the road for one ;) As for the job, I'm still waiting for Carrilion Rail to sort things out, and should have this job within the next few weeks. The down side to that is that I won't be able to be on-line anywhere near as much as I have done in the past :( And I could even be working away for periods at a time, which means that I wont have any internet access  But I won't let it get in the way of enjoying the Zed and being at the shows

Well it's been five and a half weeks since I was made redundent, and I still don't have a job!

In fact I found out this morning, that the job I'd been waiting for ISN'T going ahead at all :( So I'm a little p155ed off now. I've been strung along and been waiting for an interview for bloody ages for this job, and they've now said that they don't have enough work on so won't be making a position available after all!

I'm not happy.

The future isn't bright, and it ain't fooking orange either!! ;)

Don't these people realise they are f@#k%n with others lives

I hope it happens to them and then they feel the effects, it makes my blood boil.

I used to fix machines for Alstom, I could decide whether the work was chargeable or not and often I would let the small stuff go but not when I saw how management there talked to their staff. They got big bills from us :xxx::mac1: :D
