This ones got me baffled , From cold if i hold the throttle steady in one position at say 40 mph going up a slight hill the engine surges , as if you are pressing on and off the acc pedal . Mine`s a n/a auto ... any idea`s

I get that is well, is it not the auto box trying to decide which gear it should be in?

dont think so it doesnt change gear it just sounds like the revs are very slightly rising and falling

could it be the TPS that needs adjusting?

yep as vijay says,check tps readings should be 0.42-0.44v at idle

 

pic shows TPS and the place to take the reading from@idle ajust to the coorect readings above,if its out of spec

 

by turning the TPS via loosening the 2x8mm screw top and bottom

Hi every body , did my tps and set the air screw mixture , alls well now ta

i had a customers n/a used to do that it was the cylinder's out of balance due to poor compressions on a few cylinders due to valve seat wear . in the end had to rebuild the heads with new valves etc.

check your compressions .
