Help, my laptop is fooked, believe it needs a new harddrive. It did have a 10Gb IBM Travelstar, any suggestions where I can get the cheapest replacement. I am also led to believe the laptop is adaptable and will accept larger storage drives.

PK1 may have cheap kit...

The laptop will likely take any size of drive as long as it physically fits. Need to keep an eye on the heat though as the new drives generate a lot of heat...

Thankyou, been looking on Ebay, but some appear to have different current and voltage specs.

The Travelstar range is manufactured by Hitachi. I can get 40GB Travelstars (2.5", 5400RPM, 8MB buffer) for about £40 plus VAT.

I saw that they now make them on the IBM website. Any idea what the voltage and current specs are?
