moving indicators and front fogs = NICE NEW FRONT END!!

I was wondering of there was a way of relocating the front fogs and indicators so i can make the front end of my Zed look a bit more like the pic below?? i think it look sweet!!!

Are there any front light mods that bring the indicators next to the main driving lights (like in many of todays cars)?

i have crudely put a couple of front fogs in the picture at the bottom but would it be road legal to have them as indicators as they are quite low down.

What do you all think?

TBH not aware of legal requirements for the height and spacing of indicators however I would always consider the question, can others see them and know what you are intending to do? this would help avoid costly collisions!

There are infact legal requirements as to the spacing, location and distances between indicators, etc. It's somewhere on the web (I'm sure I've seen it recently). I'll do a search and post it up if I find it.

do you know anywhere you an get an all in one cluster for the head lamps and indicators?

here is another example of getting rid of those indicators and fogs.... better than the black one earlier??

There may be some regulations somewhere, but as long as you're sensible you;d be having a pretty bad day to get in trouble for it!

You could speak to Luke at Z Centre - he was lookign at swapping the headlight housing for, I think, MX5(??) ones to incorporate the indicator there - for the viper bumper.

I'm afraid I don't. I don't think there is one manufacturer who does a kit for the 300ZX. What I have seen some guys do in the US and also OZ is to somehow plumb in an ultra bright orange LED between the top of the high beam and dip beam. Don't know how well that works when you've got the lights on or whether it is legal in this country but it's a work around.

I agree. A chavved-up 1.6 Escort was waiting to cross my path this morning- I couldn't see his indicator flashing as it was right next to his illuminated fogs.

do you recon it will get through the MOT with low level indicators? and i think you loose side lights when you get rid of the front fog?? can anyone inlighten me on this? cheers...

It's not just the after-market anymore. Have you seen the new VWs?

Golf and Passat have lovely looking round "retro" style lights with the indicators being the little round bit in the centre. All fine and dandy, unless the fooker is braking :wack:

When the brake light is on you simply cannot see the indicator flashing - I guess that's because drivers of German cars don't normally bother with indicators

I also think that modern Peugeots and the Jag XK8, with the front indicators mounted more to the centre of the car (IE in between the headlamps, as opposed to outside them) are also dangerous.

IMO front indicators should be nearer the corners of the car so you can see easily and quickly what side is actually flashing......... :x:

On an A-road at dawn or dusk, when oncoming traffic has headlights on you cannot easily make out those cars indicating, as they overtake slower traffic.

Richard :(

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

cheers dave.... looks like i can have them 35cm off the ground... i recon they could go in the gaps in the front bumper where the fogs are in modified picture of the black Zed above.... nice...
