hi all i've just bought a new set of mechnical gauges for the z (oil, boost, water temp) i'm a little concerned about the water temp one as it has 1/2" npt fitting on the end will this go through the bulkhead anywhere on the drivers side? also does any one do a top hose adaptor to take 1/2" npt? though i must say i've got 2 smaller adaptors but not sure what size or thread they are all i can say is one is tapered thanks for any help in advance kev

Hi Kev,

I have no idea if the sender will pass through the bulkhead as I've never installed gauges before but ... if you require a stainless steel upper rad pipe with fitting welded on then please let me know. I've taken over the production and sale of all of Smithy's hard pipe kits (radiator and intake/boost).

sorry to hijack the thread here but how much are these top hose adapters with the welded boss for a greddy gauge danny, allso the delievery time from the order date. ok guys carry on :)

as i said kev undo all the bolts to the wing, all along the side and one hidden inside the door, peel back carefully so you have room, place cable through gap and feed it up in to engine bay,run end that goes to the gauge, through where the stock speeker wires would go inside the rubber grommet then up under panel under the steer wheel, then up to gauge

job done :)

The top stainless steel hose on its own (polished to a mirror finish and including silicone sleeves and s/s bands) comes in at £65. To get the adapter boss welded in will cost an additional £15 if we've got the right boss. If not, and one needs to be fabricated it'll be another £15. So ... either £80 or £95 depending on the situation. In both cases we would require your sender unit to ensure a perfect match with our boss. Delivery times are variable in the sense that it will obviously take a little longer if we need to have a boss fabricated. In general count on a turn around time of anywhere between 5 and 10 days.

Follow the cable for the bonnet opener and see if it'll fit through there, you'll have to cut the rubber a bit. Failing that, There's a wafer thin plate behind the brake peddle (on auto) that you'll easily be able to drill through. Both easy to access from either side (if a bit tight). :)

well i've been out and run the the capilary's today the way greg pointed out was good except water gauge capillary was not long enough so as my gauges are on a pillar pod i ran them out of the pillar pod across the door shut level with the top of the wing, unbolted the wing and if you look by the bonnet hinge there is a gap i the top of the wing so pull the wing back so you can feed pipes through then into the engine bay easy when you know how

nice thread guys. all th info I need to start mines before the scottish meet.
