My mate who runs a welding and fabrications workshop has offered to remove the engine, rebuild it and fit it for free! :bow:

 

We will do this together and although we have never worked on a Zed to this extent I have sod all to loose by giving it a go.

 

I mean it's not like im worried about braking the engine! :D

 

I expect you will be getting screams for help over the next few weeks as things take shape (Or not)

When I bought my 1st one a few years back, it needed a cylinder head and a turbo. Not a mechanic by trade, but went ahead and tackled it myself. It is

still running like a dream !!

Wouldnt have been possible without this site tho !! :bow:

Well done.Im doing the same thing myself at the moment.

The engine and box is out,new 555s fitted,1 new tub on,and the rest finished tomorrow.Its good because you feel more determined as you go along and you get a great feling of satisfaction.

The engine has only covered just over 2000 miles so its all run in and comes with the following spec - new mains and big end bearings, ground crank, 88mm wiseco forged pistons with rebore, new core plugs with cleaned water ways, Nistek polished and ported heads, with all valves lapped and reground, new valve springs, NGK plugs, standard cams, new lifters, new oil pump, new water pump, cambelt, pcv kit and hoses. £2000

No can do mate off to australia for a month so need all the money I can get :) I do have an engine brace that you can remove the engine and some mounting stands that you can borrow?
